Not too long ago the most recent statistics (2001 stats)on the world's richest people were printed in our local newspaper. At the same time, my Global History class was finishing a major unit on the Age of Exploration - a time period in which Europe began to exert its influence around the world. As I reviewed the statistics, I began to envision a mini-unit that would compliment my students' understanding of what they just learned and would also serve as a conduit to where we are headed. Combining both economics and geography, this mini-unit also calls upon the student to act as a social scientist. Check it out in the file below!
