I use videos in the classroom for several reasons. The most important being that they serve to enrich and/or build upon content being covered.  At the same time and at the very least, they  serve as a good medium for those who learn in a more visual manner.  However, when I use videos I am sure to use clips, usually running 10-12 minutes long, that are accompanied with discussion questions or analysis.
